Wilderness
(Dramatic monologue)

The desert of Chalcis, 374 CE. In the cell of a hermitage a young novice by the name of Eusebius Hieronymus seeks to cleanse away his past through the white heat of penance. However, his past has other ideas, and soon Hieronymus is forced to confront himself, the Devil and the Empire he grew up in as he struggles to realise the Kingdom of God. This is the wilderness. Not everyone survives.
